Roadstone Tyres

Have anyone of you heard of a tyre brand called "Roadstone"?
Neither do I, until yesterday after I changed two rear of my Prado tyres. My previous Silverstone tyres were wearing out and this weekend i was going to bring some of my Thailand colleagues up to the Kinabalu National Park and so, decided to change the tyres for the sake of a safer journey.

A Year After Leaving Labuan

This is a delayed post.
Today is 23rd July 2013, about a year after leaving Labuan...

Yeah, I used to work in Labuan for those who do not know me much. I left Labuan on 26th July 2012 to pursue a better quality family life. Labuan is a small island off the west coast of Sabah and is about 160 Km from Kota Kinabalu.
Jetty in Labuan, the RORO ferry was the only land transport

Kota Kinabalu : Entry points into the State Capital of Sabah

Kota Kinabalu (also known simply as 'K.K') is the state capital of Sabah. It is located on the northwest coast of Borneo facing the South China Sea. I believe you would have known the location of Kota Kinabalu before you visit my page here because I feel kind of stupid explaining , if not, please refer here.

Judging People

Who are we, to judge someone's life a success or failure? The moment we start to judge is the moment we start to get arrogant and ignorant. The best person to judge his success or failure is that someone himself, not us.

Brake Lamp Switch

Have you ever wondered,  what is actually happening to a car that has it's brake light continuing flashing no matter the car stops or moving or even when the car has no driver in it?

That very scenario happened to me last evening. I was disembarking my Big Boy and activated my car's alarm system when suddenly the alarm just went off. Surprisingly, I went and check all four doors and made sure all were properly closed. I reactivated my alarm system and again, it went off. By now, I realised that my rear brake light was flashing, even though I was outside of the car.

Something To Learn...

Rule of thumb: Do not touch "ANY" body part of a person because you never know the gender of this person by looking, or you will be be blamed for sexual harassment. The definition of "Gender" is vague though, nowadays....

Tip Of The Day

Thinking of sharing this, in case you do not know.

Have you ever encountered a situation whereby after getting your washed clothes out from the washing machine and your found this:

Toyota Prado: 1st Major repair 2013

Continuing from my previous post, finally I had to send my Big Boy to a local workshop for a major checkup on Wednesday (26 June 2013) after encountering total failure to the clutch system.

There was a part of my daily route to where I work, whereby a T-Junction was located on a steep hill and normally I will balance the accelerator and the clutch while waiting to exit. The clutch failed to work and caused my car to stall on the hill on that day, which was very dangerous as there were cars behind me, waiting in line for the exit. I brought the car to a local workshop immediately at noon and requested the clutch pump to be replaced as well as check on other major parts that is in the process of failing.

Toyota Prado: Steering Issues & Clutch

Some update about my Big Boy aka Toyota Prado 90.

Recently, I found that my Prado has not been responding well in regards to the steering system. Firstly, when I go over a bump, the steering wheel vibrates. After 17 years of its life, there's no question about things starting to fail but it feels so annoyed whenever I have to drive through unpaved roads and if anyone of you know what the problem could be, please do advice? I thank you in advance.

Life As A Billionaire!

Some sharing and thought!

Hm..."Life of a billionaire". I guess people like him never do something that most people persume as the "Right" thing to do, and that's why he is someone that most people are not, a billionaire, that is.

Question..

Which one would you choose? To live an 80 years of boring and safe lifestyle or a 40 years of exciting and risky lifestyle?

Travelling back to wife's hometown: Lahad Datu

Both me and my wife have agreed that every year, both of us will have to go back to our hometown together at least once a year. The timing will be for mine, during the Chinese New Year (normally beginning of the year) and for hers, during the Harvest Festival (mid-year). The Harvest Festival is celebrated by the indigenous people of Sabah and Sarawak and basically to mark the harvesting of rice. Not that my wife is an indigenous people, she's Malaysian Chinese just like me. It's just that we get 2 public holidays on this occasion.

Kelisa Service at 90K

My Kelisa reached 90,000 of it's mileage. Not sure if it's considered a big figure considering the little car was bought in 2005. That's almost 9 years. Today I get the chance to drive it to the service centre (normally it is driven by my wife). Felt so much relax driving this little car compared to my Prado a.k.a Big Boy. The car is very light which makes it accelerate very quickly especially when the car air conditioner is turned off.

What Goes Around, Comes Around

I'm thinking of noting this down, just to remind myself on one silly thing that I have done so not to repeat it again.

Farting, Bikes

Just something bothering my mind and wish to blog about it today.

I'm not sure what I have eaten that keeps me farting since last night. My stomach was and is still feeling uncomfortable as at now and the funny thing is, I think I farted on my wife's face while both of us were asleep last night and she was like nothing happened and still enjoyed her sleep. Haha... well, just a joke. Actually what really happened was I woke up from an unexpected fart while I was dreaming of riding a bike.

Handphones or Parents?

Yesterday, May 13th was Mother’s Day and I was having my dinner together with my wife and brother in law at this famous wine and steak house called UpperStar. It was quite packed with people at the time we reached there and it was probably around 8.00pm. I guess the reason was because everyone was celebrating this special day with their Mom.

Some Thoughts To Share re 13th Malaysia Election

Our country has just completed its election on May 5th, 2013. For the first time, the number of votes garnered by the opposition party (Pakatan Rakyat) went so close against the current ruling party (Barisan Nasional), which has been ruling Malaysia for the past 50 years. The fact of unchallenged government for such a long period has caused serious corruption happening in our country.

Toyota Prado a.k.a. Big Boy

My Toyota Prado is the year 97 version, also known as the Prado 90 series and I nicknamed it Big Boy.
The decision to make a second purchase of a vehicle was due to the requirement of both me and my wife working at two different places and without a second vehicle, it would be very time consuming commuting to our work places. Toyota has came out with great 4x4 throughout its history and because of Prado's known reliability and nice look, I have made the decision to purchase in 2009 from a second hand car dealer.

Political Parties vs Religion

I was stuck in the traffic jam  on the way home. While looking at the colourful flags by political parties raised along the highway, suddenly I have this thought. I was thinking, what's the similarities between Political Parties and Religion.

Visiting Borneo

I will start to blog about Borneo, known as the third largest island in the world but this will only be touching about the two states of Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak. I will share with you the following:

- Places of interest
- Tips for visiting the capitals of this two states
- Information deemed important while visiting these two states

My Cars

I was thinking perhaps I should create a blog specially dedicated to my two cars. For your information, Malaysia's public transportation system is in very bad shape and because of that, everyone tries to own a car or at least a mean of transport by the time they graduated and entering the working force.

I myself is no exception. I own two cars, a Toyota Prado (year make 1997) and a Perodua Kelisa (year make 2005), a small malaysian made compact car. In future, this blog will be telling the story of my life with these two cars that I own as well as some automotives news and happenings in Malaysia as well as my thoughts.
