Downing of MH17

By now I guess most people would have known the fate of MH17 but this came as a shocking news to me last Friday morning (18 July 2014). It was shocking because this came only about 4 months ago when another Malaysia airline flight MH370 was lost and according to the media, somewhere in the South Indian Ocean. As at today, it is still a mystery as to the fate of this aircraft. No bodies, no debris and no wreckage is found yet.

Life Journey As At 17 July 2014

Good morning everyone!

Man...i'm feeling exhausted after completing a travel blog at www.borneoescapde.com. Hey, please visit and support this website yah, if you want to get travelling tips about Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

I'm going to reduce the frequency of this blog to once a week as I find it hard to juggle between these two blogs. I just do not have that much of energy to spare and during the period of setting up BorneoEscapade, I'd gotten sick a few times. Moving forward, this blog will focus mainly about myself, my life experience and personal travelling trips.

Lastly, your support is very much needed!

Winning RM57,000,000 Jackpot.

The question is, how will you spend the money?

Kota Kinabalu June 27, 2014
Oh yes, before I proceed, why i'm talking about RM57,000,000 instead of RM100,000,000 is because this is the record amount of jackpot winning ever won by a person in Malaysia. I think it was won by an elder in his 70s.

Rich vs Poor, From a Car Wash Session Perspective

Ha, what a weird title but let's just skip this for the time being as i'm still thinking of an appropriate topic for my sharing today. Or, perhaps I will just let it be.

Me and my wife brought our car for a wash yesterday at a car wash outlet in Damai, Kota Kinabalu. After done with our lunch, we decided to head back to the outlet to check on the status of our car wash and to inspect any dirt not cleaned. There were 3 kids (8-9 years of age probably) doing the cleaning of our car, on a public holiday.

Dreaming: North Korea

Gee...I just woke up from a horrible dream. Guess what, I was in North Korea! What's the matter with me?! In my dream, the city of Pyongyang was filled with lots of gigantic and nicely crafted building. Unfortunately, these buildings were empty except for a few military personnel patrolling in the city of Pyongyang. Not many civilians were sighted.

I guess I watched too much  documentary about North Korea lately.

Considering A New Camera

Recently i'm considering a new camera. I have being using a Sony DSC TX-7 for quite some time. It's a compact camera and no doubt, it has lots of functions but most of them are in auto mode, meaning the ability of setting attributes such as the ISO and Aperture are limited.

I'm thinking of moving to a more advanced level of camera, not too advance in terms of cost but good enough to play around with the manual settings and taking good pictures for my work. After some research, I have came down to 2 cameras namely the Sony Nex 3N vs Nikon D3100. They cost about the same, function about the same and the most importantly, the sensor are about the same size.

What do you think? Which one would you choose?

3 Strangers Bond Over Music

I came across this video today.

Background of the story:
The person who took this video was just finished buying his grocery and took this video when he finds this guy playing an interesting music. Soon after, two strangers joined and jammed with this guy.

My thought:
People communicate and bond over music! That's the way should be, enjoying the beauty of music and companionship of each other. I truly hope to see this kind of event happen in Malaysia and not watching certain people championing their own race, religion and political view in this country. Peace!

Update About Myself + Upcoming New Project

There were so many things happened last few weeks that shifted my focus away from this blog.

First it was my parents who visited me some time beginning of last month. Busy entertaining and because this computer which i'm working on was always occupied, there's no chance for me to sit down, having some time to clear my mind and starting to blog. Anyway, i'm not blaming as family time is more important for me.

And then there's this GST (Goods Service Tax) thingy that our government is going to implement commencing 1st of April next year and because of that I have to attend a two days course about this. As i'm in charged of the accounting and administrative related matters for the company that i'm working for, I have to learn about the mechanism of this GST. Seems to me it's going to involve very complicated procedures for me to 'toy' around once this GST is implemented.

Lastly, the most important project that my friends and I are working on. If you realized in my blog, there's a button which says "Private Tour" that is now still under the status "work in progress'. Yes! me and my friends are working on this, and basically, we're providing private tours to whomever is interested to visit this area of the world, privately of course, without the trouble of having to follow strict schedule prefixed by local tour providers as well as the awkward feeling to mix around with other tourist strangers. Our main focus is to build friendship with people around the world who's interested to visit Borneo and to exchange, share and understand about the lifestyle, culture and tradition with each other. This is purely a friendship and fellowship approach and more details of this project we will present in our new website. For the start, we will focus only on the area of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

I'm currently working on this new website so expect me to blog less often here but I will still update from time to time. Once this website is ready, I will announce it here so, stay tuned.

P/s: you may provide me with your suggestion/comments below about this new project of mine. Thanks.

Devil Breath: Scopolamine

Have you ever heard of Devil's Breath?

Some times ago I watched a documentary about Devil's Breath. What it is? It is some kind of drug, known to be the world's scariest drug.

About Apple iPhone, From My Eyes...

Recently, I came across an article from the February 2014 issue of Chip Malaysia magazine, detailing how much Apple (as in Steve Job's company) earned from the owner of their most recent iPhone line-ups namely the iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C.

Missing MH370: My Thought On How The Chinese Media Portrayed Malaysia

First of all, I need to make myself clear that i'm not being insensitive to the relatives of the missing MH370 victims. What I am about to say may not be to your liking (particularly if you're from China) but I still feel that I need to voice out in respond to all negative comments regarding how Malaysia handled this incident of missing MH370.

Weirdos, Craziness and Success....Strange Combinations?

Am I a weirdo? My wife always reminds me don't be one. It's shameful, she says. But there's part inside me that always wanted to do crazy stuff. "Crazy Stuff" as defined as acts that "NORMAL PEOPLE WILL NOT DO".

The Missing of Malaysia Airlines MH 370: From My Eyes

About seven days ago, at around 2.40am on 8th March 2014, a Malaysia airline flight MH370 of aircraft type Boeing 777-200 carrying 239 people on board went missing from radar. The flight departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and was expected to land in Beijing around 6.30am the same day, however, during the handover of air traffic control from Malaysia to Vietnam during the period the flight entering the airspace of Vietnam, Vietnamese air traffic control failed to detect MH370. Malaysian air traffic control tried to detect MH370 but to no avail too.

Sickening Society

Yesterday, came across this news shared by a friend of mine.

Because of things like this happened, people are becoming more hesitant to help out. I see people keeps blaming of how heartless the Chinese are but this is the kind of thing frequently happening in China. If we want to blame, blame the government for failing to safeguard the neighborhood. I seriously think that the authority should compensate this kind-hearted fella for all his losses and suffers.

ASUS Radeon HD 7790 Direct CU II OC, My Experience (Not a review)

I have always wanted a higher performance graphic card for my desktop with the primary reason, the ability to play PC (Personal Computer) games with descent eye candies but have never willing to pay more than RM600 or about USD180 for this reason (yeah, I know I'm stingy but hey, I'm just an occasion gamer). I did have a slower performance graphic card previously which came in the form of Gigabyte Radeon HD5450. It was a good budget card which came at a cost of RM129 (USD40) but will not allow me to play my preferred PC games at higher graphic setting.

Last June 2013, I came across a review regarding ASUS Radeon HD7790 Direct CU II OC from Chip Malaysia Magazine

Friendship

I'm kind of feeling down at this moment. The story is like this. Today is a public holiday and I was initially asked to attend a small gathering with our ex-high school classmates. Only realized they did not invite me at all even though I have indicated to them to give me a call if the gathering is on.

My Company's 1st Anniversary Celebration!

In my previous post, I shared about my career in Labuan.

End of July last year (2012), I quit my job in Labuan and landed with a newly setup company in Kota Kinabalu, which is the Company i'm being employed now. The Company officially commenced it's business on 1st September 2012 and it's primary trading is shipping related.
